Road Work in Dearborn
Ford Road between Telegraph and Mercury
Starting Sunday, July 18, Ford Road between Telegraph and Mercury will be down two lanes in each direction for asphalt resurfacing. The 3.5 mile stretch will have all lanes open on August 15.
Southfield Service Drive
Starting the week of May 17, 2010, the contractor will start asphalt resurfacing of the southbound Southfield Service Drive between Michigan Avenue and Ford Road. One lane of traffic will be maintained. It will take approximately 8 weeks to complete the project.
Michigan Avenue in west Dearborn
In west Dearborn between Brady and Outer Drive, MDOT has switched traffic on Michigan Avenue to the westbound side. The contractor will work on the eastbound side with curb replacement and pavement base repair. This project will be done in July.
Michigan Avenue, Outer Drive and Brady resurfacing
The Michigan Department of Transportation plans to kick off a $2.1-million resurfacing of the Michigan Avenue, Outer Drive, and Brady Street beginning April 5. It will reduce the avenue to one lane each way — a move MDOT said will allow it to speed up the project so it can be finished in mid-July. MDOT spokesman Rob Morosi said drivers should expect delays. Because the road won't close completely, the state won't post a detour, but drivers are encouraged to seek alternates. Access to local streets along that stretch of Michigan will be maintained. Crews will be out daily this week doing prep work for the project, funded through the federal economic stimulus program. The state performed temporary pavement repairs to that badly deteriorated segment of Michigan Avenue 2008.
