Registration is now open for the Dearborn Area Chamber of Commerce’s Cruisin Dearborn event, held on Friday, Aug. 7, the first day of the Aug. 7-9 Homecoming festival, which is presented by the City of Dearborn and the nonprofit Dearborn Community Fund.
One hundred classic vehicles will cruise the streets of Dearborn to kick off the festivities. The cruise, sponsored by Les Stanford Chevrolet Cadillac, will begin at 7 p.m. at the Dearborn Police Department and will run along Michigan Avenue through downtown west Dearborn, ending at Ford Field Park for a fun classic car show. The classic cars will be on display until 10 p.m.
This year, the cruise is limited to 100 vehicles, and drivers will all receive a certificate of participation, a dash plaque, sponsored by Heartland of Allen Park & Dearborn Heights, and cruiser gift bag, sponsored by Jack Demmer Lincoln. Also supporting the event this year is Morse Moving and Right at Home of Dearborn/Downriver.
The parade is scheduled to be led by Dearborn Mayor Jack O’Reilly and Dearborn Heights Mayor Dan Paletko. The car show following the cruise will feature an exciting classic Chevrolet display from Les Stanford Chevrolet Cadillac in Dearborn.
Registration for Cruisin’ Dearborn is only $20 per vehicle, and includes a $5 voucher to be used at the nonprofit food vendor tents at the Homecoming festival. Registration can be completed online at www.DearbornAreaChamber.org or by calling 313-584-6100.
Cruisin’ Dearborn is open to classic cars in model years from 1933-1990.
