Fire Station #4 - 6501 Schaefer

Replacing its predecessor which still stands at 4501 Schaefer, this station was built on its current site in 1957. It provides service to the northeast portion of the city. It bears a heavy work load. It houses Engine Company 4, Ladder Company 4, Rescue Company 4 and the Apparatus Maintenance Division.

V-84 1998 KME aluminum class A Rescue/Pumper with fully enclosed Euro-style cab. Cummings M-11 450 Hp. Diesel w/Allison world transmission. Waterous 1500 G.P.M. single stage pump with air shift. Vehicle Hale foammaster foam system with 20 gal. class A foam and 20 gal. Class B foam. Whelen front lightbar is equipped with an Opticom. Vehicle is equipped with all NFPA recommended equipment. In addition, vehicle carries 1 partner K-1200 multi-purpose saw, PPV fan, and a full compliment of Hurst rescue equipment including cutters, spreaders, rams, high and low pressure air bags, and air chisels. Vehicle carries 800 ft. of 5 inch hose, 800 ft. of 2 1/2 inch hose, 1- 200 ft. 1 3/4 inch preconnect, 2- 200 ft. 1 1/2 inch preconnects, and 1- 100 ft. 1 1/2 inch car fire line. This vehicle has an onboard hydraulic 10K generator that operates the Hurst power unit and the 4- 750 watt Quick Rase lights. In addition, this vehicle is licensed at the Advanced Life support level for Emergency Medical Operation and is equipped with a Physio-control LP 12 cardiac monitor and all necessary related medical equipment.

V-68 1992 Seagrave 50 ft. Telesquirt with stainless steel body. Detroit diesel 6V92 turbo diesel w/Allison automatic trans. Waterous 1500 G.P.M. 2 stage pump with electric shift. Fecon around the pump foam system with 30 gallon foam tank. Vehicle is equipped with Opticom. Vehicle is equipped with all NFPA recommended equipment. In addition, vehicle has 1 Partner K-1200 multi-purpose saw and Hurst Jaws of Life, spreaders, cutters, and power unit. Vehicle has 500 gal. water tank. Vehicle carries 800 ft. of 2 1/2 inch hose, 800 ft. of 5 inch hose, 2- 200 ft. 1 3/4 inch preconnects, and 2- 200 ft. boosters. Vehicle has 2- 750 watt 110 volt Quick Rase quartz lights on a telescoping pole. In addition, this vehicle is licensed at the Advanced Life Support level for Emergency Medical Operations and equipped with a Physio-Control LP 12 cardiac monitor and all necessary related medical equipment.

V-86 1999 McCoy/Miller type 1 medium duty rescue on a Freightliner chassis. Front light bar is equipped with an Opticom. Vehicle is fully staffed and equipped as an ALS unit and utilizes a Physio-Control LP 12, 12 lead cardiac monitor with ECG transmission equipment.

V-83 1998 McCoy/Miller type 1 medium duty rescue on an International chassis. Front light bar is equipped with an Opticom. Vehicle is fully staffed and equipped as an ALS unit and utilizes a Physio-Control LP 12, 12 lead cardiac monitor with ECG transmission equipment.

V-61 1991 Sutphen 100 ft. aerial platform. Aluminum cab with stainless steel body. Detroit diesel 8V92 turbo diesel with Allison automatic trans. Hale 1500 G.P.M. single stage pump with air shift. 300 gallon water tank. Vehicle carries all NFPA recommended equipment. In addition, it also carries 1-PPV fan, 1 Cutters Edge ventilation saw, cribbing for Jaws of Life, and 1 high rise pack. The vehicle is equipped with a built-in Onan 6KW generator. This generator has the capability to power the 4- 500 watt Quick Rase lights mounted on the vehicle and power the telescoping light poles on two pumpers at the same time. The vehicle's front light bar is equipped with an Opticom. The vehicle carries 700 ft. of 5 inch hose, 700 ft. of 2 1/2 inch hose, and 2- 200 ft. 1 3/4 inch preconnects. Vehicle has pre-piped breathing air to the platform. In addition, this vehicle is licensed at the Medical First Responder level, carries a Physio-Control LP 500 Automatic External Defibrillator and all necessary related medical equipment.
