No, the Dearborn City Charter provides that
an attorney employed by the city shall only provide legal services for
the City of Dearborn.
Does the City of Dearborn sell homes?
No, the City does not sell homes. The City does however sell vacant lots through a bidding process.
I am interested in buying a vacant piece of property may I purchase it?
1) Check with the City Assessor to determine who pays the taxes. If it is privately owned, you must contact that person.
2) If the City owns the property, you must submit a written request to the Department of Law stating that you are interested in purchasing the property. You must include the property address or property Tax ID#, your name, address and phone number.

The Law Department handles only misdemeanor
prosecutions (shoplifting, drunk driving, etc.). Felonies are handled
by the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office, 224-5777
Can I take my dog to the neighborhood
park and let him play?
No. Dogs are not allowed in city parks. It
does not matter if they are leashed or unleashed.

Yes, you can do that, but if you are the
only witness to the violation, it is impossible to prosecute. All complaints,
anonymous or not, are referred to the appropriate City Department for
