FIRE HYDRANT FLUSHING
SEPTEMBER 22, 2008 THRU OCTOBER 17, 2008

The City of Dearborn will be flushing fire hydrants Monday thru Thursday during the hours of 3:00am – 7:00am beginning September 22nd and ending on October 17th.

Areas to be flushed:

Week #1

  • Tireman, south to Rotunda and Greenfield to east City Limits

Week #2

  • Rotunda, south to Outer Drive to east City Limits

Week #3

  • Ford Rd, south to Rotunda, Greenfield, west to Telegraph

Week #4

  • Ford Rd, west of Telegraph to Gulley, south to Dartmouth, east to Monroe. During these times, customers may experience temporary discoloration of their water. This discoloration does not affect water quality. If discoloration appears in your water, we recommend the following:

1. Allow some time for the sediments to settle. This may take a couple of hours following the flushing activity in your area.

2. Do not run your hot water until you have verified that the water in your plumbing is clear.

3. To clear your plumbing of sediment, run a cold water faucet for 3 to 5 minutes at the lowest point in your plumbing (usually the basement).

4. If you continue to experience problems, contact our Water Customer Service Office at 313-943-2307 Monday thru Friday, between 8:00am – 5:00pm. For after hours calls, contact our City Dispatch at 313-943-2100.
