Welcome to the City of Dearborn’s Economic and Community Development Department. We have four important missions within the city government including:

• Improving neighborhoods and maintaining property values

• Contributing to the creation of a high quality of life environment within which Dearborn’s residents, workers and visitors can thrive

• Providing commercial services for construction, inspection and building permit activities.

Dearborn is a great city to live work and play. We have great hotels, hospitality sites and the Henry Ford – America’s Greatest History Attraction and a gateway site for Michigan tourism. We are a regional employment center for Greater Detroit, and have a daytime population that swells to 150,000 residents, workers and visitors. Our schools are top notch and we offer a variety of educational experiences found in few communities. We are the home town of Henry Ford and headquarters of the Ford Motor Company. We have great downtown districts, interesting ethnic businesses, and a diverse population of over 100,000 residents pleased to share our community with you.
