Public Information

Fireworksweb The Department of Public Information serves as a bridge between the City government and the residents and businesses of Dearborn. We work every day to provide timely, relevant and interesting information about Dearborn to create a well-informed citizenry, and also to reflect our sense of unity and community.

As an important part of bringing citizens together, the Department of Public Information organizes, raises funds and promotes the City’s largest special events: Homecoming and the Memorial Day Parade. We also serve Dearborn’s veterans and their organizations, such as the Dearborn Allied War Veterans Council.

Among the Department of Public Information primary responsibilities are media relations, publications, internal communications, broadcast and Internet programming, photography, general information phone calls, and content for the City’s website. Through these efforts, it is our goal to accurately tell the story of Dearborn’s government, neighborhoods, commerce, history and future.
