Plant Exchange and Sunflower Contest

sunflower1A Fall Plant Exchange will take place at Snow Branch Library on Saturday, September 11 from 1 - 3 p.m. This is a great way to add variety to your flower garden while saving money.

To participate, bring to the library any perennials (plants that return every year), bulbs, herbs, seeds, etc. that you wish to swap with other gardeners.  There will be a master gardener on hand to answer questions.

Even if you don’t have any plants to swap but our a beginning gardner, plan on attending.  Many veteran gardeners will be happy to share their advice, along with a plant or two.

Also during the September 11 event, gardeners of all ages are invited to bring in their best sunflower plant for the Super Sunflower Contest.

Adult and child winners will receive prizes for the tallest plant and largest diameter head.  All contestants will receive a participation certificate. Winners will be announced at 3 p.m.

The event takes place rain or shine, so don’t miss out on the fun.  Snow Branch Library is at 23950 Princeton at Telegraph in Dearborn.  For more information, call the library at 313- 274-1780.
