Ozone Action Day July 7

SEMCOG announces that Wednesday, July 7 is the first Ozone Action day of the year.
Several days of hot humid weather, high temperatures, little wind and little chance of rain have contributed to the high concentrations of ground-level ozone expected on Wednesday.
During an Ozone Action Day:
- Try not to refuel your vehicle. If you do need to refuel, do so in the evening when the weather is cooler. Do not “top off” the tank.
- Reduce automobile use.
- Do not mow the lawn with a gas mower.
