Dearborn’s annual neighborhood
Clean Up parades start May 5
Dearborn’s annual neighborhood Clean Up parades get underway
on Monday, May 5.
Each May, members of the City Beautiful Commission partner with students,
teachers, and parents from public and parochial elementary schools to
conduct the parades, which help teach the importance of keeping Dearborn
beautiful.
Residents should be aware that – unlike in past years –
City of Dearborn work crews will not be going through the neighborhoods
where the parades will be taking place in order to “spruce things
up” before the parades.
Homeowners are urged to take extra care to ensure that their properties
are looking their best for the parades – particularly to set a
good example for the children who will be marching in them.
Students will be asked to look for examples of properties that are not
maintained to appropriate neighborhood standards and asked to talk about
them in post-parade school ceremonies.
