Live entertainment to attract thousands to Dearborn Homecoming festival Aug. 1-3
Eddie Money leads three days of continuous entertainment
Three fantastic nights of live entertainment – including rock legend Eddie Money – are planned for Dearborn’s 29th annual Homecoming festival making it, once again, a superior attraction for guests of all ages.
The 29th annual Homecoming will take place at the Ford Field Park grounds in Dearborn on August 1-3. A majority of the activities take place from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
Here’s a look at what’s been scheduled for the Main Stage:
• Legendary rocker Eddie Money is sure to bring a good time Saturday at 8:30 p.m. with his famous hits like “Shakin’,” “Think I’m In Love,” “I Wanna Go Back” and “Take Me Home Tonight.” Money’s personality and catchy lyrics make his live performances unforgettable!
Since the 1970s, Eddie Money has written and performed songs famous for their memorable tunes and unique vocals. A staple of MTV in the 1980s, Money has kept his audiences groovin’ with several platinum albums and 11 Top 40 Hits.
A man of many talents, Money has worked as an actor as well as a musician. His popular melodies have been featured in many media, including the television show The Simpsons, the movie Americathon, and the video game Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s.
• Cruise to the classic sound of Steve King & The Dittilies, performing at 8 p.m. on Friday night and sposnored by Comerica! A fantastic cover band that brings blues, rock, and Motown to life, Steve King & The Dittilies will keep your feet tapping with everything from “Ain’t too Proud to Beg” to “Zoot Suit Riot.”
• Popular Detroit cover band Fifty Amp Fuse will begin jamming at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 3, playing just about everything the crowd wants to hear, from Frank Sinatra and Queen to AC/DC and ABBA. Sponsored by Ford Motor Co.
• And for the children, Homecoming is proud to welcome AM 910 Radio Disney’s Rockin’ D-Tour, performing two shows at 1-1:45 p.m. and 3-3:45 p.m. on Sunday! This kid-friendly live performance from Radio Disney will bring high energy games and today’s music to the Main Stage! Sponsored by Severstal Steel.
Dearborn’s Homecoming, which is organized by the City of Dearborn, will take place at Ford Field Park on August 1-3 and features two spectacular fireworks displays, a classic car show, class reunions, an arts and craft fair, historical re-enactments, food stations, carnival rides, sports contests and children’s activities.
There is no admission to the Dearborn Homecoming Festival.
