Dearborn’s loose leaf collection program is expected to begin
on Monday, October 22, and end on Friday, November 30.
Dearborn residents can check out page 37 of the 2007 city calendar for
details about this program.
The Department of Public Works’ Highway Division will be collecting
leaves throughout the city in sections. Collection will start in Section
1 and then will continue in numerical order.
To see which section your neighborhood is in, check the leaf collection
map in the 2007 city calendar (page 37).
Beginning October 22, you can call the Leaf Pickup Hotline at 943.2444
to find out when your section is scheduled for loose leaf pickup. The
hotline will inform residents about which sections are scheduled for
collection on the following day. The hotline will be updated after 3
p.m. each weekday.
In addition, pickup schedules will be displayed daily on CDTV, the city’s
cable TV channel. CDTV is channel 12 on Comcast cable channel and Channel
10 on WOW.
Do not rake leaves into the street until the hotline or CDTV
says crews will be in your section.
Residents are responsible for moving their parked vehicles from the
street the day that leaves are being collected off of their street.
Remember that loose leaf collection may not coincide with your regular
trash day.
Residents can also put out leaves in proper yard waste containers, or
paper yard waste bags, for pick up on their regular trash collection
days. Containers must be 20-32 gallons and have yard waste collection
stickers on them.
Leaves in plastic bags will not be picked up.
