Dearborn residents reminded that THAW provides home heating assistance
Avoid unsafe home heating methods

The Dearborn Fire Department reminds Dearborn residents that help is available for those who are having difficulty keeping their homes warm this winter due to the high cost of energy.

The Heat and Warmth Fund (THAW) is a non-profit agency that provides assistance to qualified low-income families and individuals. If you need help heating your home this winter, contact THAW at 313.226.9465 or visit www.thawfund.org.

Be sure to get help with home heating bills if you need it, and don’t resort to unsafe practices such as trying to use an open oven to heat your home. Also, take care when using space heaters: keep heaters at least three feet away from any combustible materials, such as drapes or furniture.
