The administration of the Police Department
consists of the Chief of Police and the Secretary to the Chief of Police.
The staff of the Chief of Police consists of personnel who provide direct
assistance to him. The staff ensures the efficient administration of
the department rules, regulations, orders, procedures and policies on
a day-to-day basis.
Under the command of Chief Michael Celeski, the Administrative Division
of the Police Department coordinates all the major activities of the
Police Department. This is accomplished through the actions of the three
divisions: Patrol, Investigative and Support Services.
The Chief of Police has the following
directly responsible to him:
- Police Chaplains - The Police Chaplains
provide both religious and spiritual assistance to departmental members,
employees, and citizens. They help promote greater understanding and
cooperation between members and the community.
- Drivers License Bureau
The Dearborn Police Drivers License Bureau is the only one in Michigan not run by the Secretary of State. It is manned by civilian staff from the Police Department. Any Michigan resident can renew their drivers license or test for original drivers license here.
