CRIME PREVENTION UNIT The Department’s Crime Prevention Unit is comprised of four full time sworn police officers and one Sergeant. This unit falls under the supervision of the Training & Development Office. The concept of Crime Prevention consists of steps you can take to limit your chances of becoming a victim of a crime. Crime Prevention enlist’s the participation of citizens in cooperation with the Police Department. The purpose is to reduce crime, create an alert neighborhood, and facilitate the reporting of suspicious activity. Crime prevention program’s include; Neighborhood Watch, Operation Identification, Community Policing, Home Safety, Personal Safety, ATM Safety, and Identification Fraud.
